Discover Art, Discover Merton

with Morwenna Lake

Studio 3, ACAVA Phipps Bridge Studios (Number 24 on the map).

28 and 29 September.

Until recent times, ink was made from the round galls found on oak trees. Many official documents including the Domesday Book and Magna Carta were written using oak gall ink. This ongoing, drop-in workshop will show you how this ink was created. You will get an opportunity to try writing in ancient script, or drawing with it during your visit. Morwenna is a visual artist exploring the use of natural substances within her work.
