“Stableyard Gallery Collaborative” is a group of artists who are brought together through creating art work that is inspired by the interests of the natural world. Taking part in Merton Arts Festival this year are Claire Chandler (www.clairechandler.co.uk), Sarahjane England (firstname.lastname@example.org), Cynthia Hatcher, Ingeborg Neale (email@example.com), Tom Spooner (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Clare Weatherill (email@example.com). Within the collaborative, the artists show great experience, all naturally gifted some educated to Masters level. Showing their artworks in top art galleries such as Mall Galleries, the V&A, Royal College of Art, People’s History Museum and Pocko Gallery. All artists are members of London art groups and societies. Some of them teach classes also. The Gallery is open from Monday 16 September to Sunday 29 September, 10am-5pm daily.
Every member of the group explores ideas of the natural world differently creating their own individual artwork. In this exhibition “Spirit of Place” each artist will use his or her own perspective of the importance of the park. Capturing the colours, details of the views or still life, the atmosphere, the wildlife, streams, rivers, pond life, birds, local environment and countryside. Exploring reasons why people go outside. Linked to Gilliat Hatfeild and Octavia Hill vision for the park heritage. The artwork is made up of using different mediums include watercolour, acrylics, pastels, pen and paper, lino, etching prints and photographs.
