Artistic Statement

My interests lie in history, both personal and general, and the way in which the two become interwoven to produce an enriched fabric. I use oral history as a source for invention and in particular to inform my practice in relation to creating a narrative about a particular place. I create narratives from the multiple readings collected from respondents of oral history interviews. Through an exploration of artistic practices, appropriation and intervention my investigations consider processes of transformation through methods of intervention and strategies of use and reuse of the interview-based research material that is collected.
