Personal statement

Jane Welch is a ceramicist who makes both sculptural and functional pieces. She exhibited in Grayson Perry’s Room of Fun in the 2018 Royal Academy 250th Summer Exhibition with a table decoration piece: Ode to Kitsch and Pop Art. She is now making a body of work following on from this and focusing on Brexit pieces.

Artistic Statement

I completed the City Lit Ceramics Diploma in 2017 and went on to exhibit in Grayson Perry’s Room of Fun in the 2018 Royal Academy’s 250th Summer Exhibiton. I have since had a couple of pop up Open Studios and exhibited at The Hurlingham Club’s 150th Art Exhibition. My work is both sculptural, taking a quirky spin on the world, my latest pieces looking at Brexit. I also make functional pieces, such as mugs, plates and bowls.
