My subject matter has been varied, but almost without exception, intrinsically static – like a still-life. It has included cars, trucks, landscapes, architecture, food, foliage and water. There are no special subjects that interest me, but there is a type of subject matter that makes the kind of image that I like. Often ordinary, and immediately, at least, of little note. When confronted with the references to the familiar and recognisable, I think the viewer has an automatic shared response to artwork that is inclusive and concerned with the real world.
