Merton Arts Festival is an annual Artists’ Open Houses/Open Studios art event in the London Borough of Merton.

It takes place during two weeks in September, and any artist can take part whether or not they live in the borough.

Run entirely by volunteers, it began life as Merton Arts Trail in 2010, co-founded by Wendy Bliss and Chrissie Craig, becoming Merton Arts Festival (MAF) in 2016 under Ben Nicolas’s direction. Others who have contributed significantly to its development and success along the way include William Brown, Justin Besley, Linda O’Hara, Claire Morgan, Wendy McTernan, Paul Tanner, Barney Fagan and Elisabeth Monro.

Celebrating its tenth year in 2020, MAF has become a fixture in many peoples’ diaries. All art exhibited / sold is commission-free, which represents a huge incentive to the public and galleries to seek out emerging local talented artists.

Merton Arts Festival is proud to have key sponsors Marcus Beale Architects and Hawes & Co Estate Agents, with the support of Fielders Arts & Craft Supplies. MAF is a Finalist for the Time & Leisure Arts & Culture award 2019.

The MAF19 Team warmly invites you to visit our Artists’ Open Houses & Studios again this September.
